Glogster: An Online Poster-Maker

Presenter: Holly Barnes

Date: August 18, 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Carolina Forest High Lab G101

Description of Session: Do you need to snazzy-up that poster project you always assign at the end of a novel? If so, Glogster (poster + blog) is the latest Web 2.0 tool that can help you to update a project that you may have used over and over. The best part is, you no longer will need to buy glue, construction paper, and scissors—everything is done and shared online. In this session you will receive instruction on how to create a Glog, how to create and manage your student accounts, and most importantly, time to work with the tool and get it ready for the new school year.

Handouts: I will make a handout that will describe the process of setting up the student accounts. I will make another one that will describe some of the basic features.

Materials Necessary: None

I can't wait to use this in the classroom. It is so much more thought-provoking than a paper poster.
